Default King Kong Goes to Tallahassee (Gibson L-48 from 1949/50)

Hi there folks, the 73 year old jazz lady* wanted to get back on the sofa and play a little blues
King Kong Goes to Tallahassee (Gibson L-48 from 1949/50) by Bruce Cockburn. It's not that easy and there's still room for improvement in my playing, but at 61 you're still young and capable of development!
Hope you enjoy!

* I was refering to the guitar not me ...

Nice Roland. What a sweet sound. Just what I needed with my coffee this morning.

Nice, and so rare to hear fingerpicked acoustic blues on this kind of guitar! Do you have any more recordings with her?

What strings do you use, btw?

Hi Roland,
I wish I could play the blues like you did on this tune!
Lovely and emotional playing.
Beautiful tone and very skilled playing.

Well, isn't that just one of the tracks that stood out most for me listening to album of the same name on Bandcamp!

Such a shame these instruments are so restricted to jazz nowadays, and so rarely played acoustically!

I've never tried PBs on mine yet, because I never liked them on spruce+maple. Maybe I should give that set of TI Spectrums I have a try, or get Pyramid to make me a custom set of their nylon tape wounds with PB inner winding...

Wow, Roland!

That sounded great! Really terrific blues playing there on a great sounding archtop guitar!

Wink

Yeah, do it

For some like "Little Autumn Blue", "Minor Mode", "Prelude to a tree", "Ennio", "highland waltz", "Vintage" I did some basic transcriptions for the die hard buyers of my CD ...

Wow Roland, very inspiring to listen to your artistic playing. Truly a delight.

Thanks so much for posting. You sort of have a Bruce Cockburn look as well. At first glance, I thought you’d posted a video of him. Anyway, great pleasure to listen.

Roger
