This is heartbreaking and I join others in hoping you are successful in getting them back.

Man, there are a lot of sucky people in this world. This is gross. Sorry to hear. All the best in hopefully recovering some or all of your guitars.

I would be curious to know if they took anything else. If they didn’t, I like the theory that the source of the problem is not totally random.

Ugly.

That truly sucks, I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm near you (Spokane area) and will keep my eyes peeled on Craigslist, Facebook etc.

I'd notify every music store and pawnshop within a wide circumference.

Miserable experience, for sure. Whenever I hear about such a situation, it occurs to me to just throw out a couple of points. One, in no way, shape, or form are you at fault. The crooks are at fault. Nobody deserves to be robbed, ever. Two, a little money spent on insurance goes a long way. I have all my guitars insured through Heritage, costs about $300 a year. Heritage covers everything. I've only used my insurance once in 25 years, for a small problem with a guitar that occurred in shipping. I made a phone call, sent a couple of photos, and got a check 3 days later. Sometimes I moan about the premium when it comes due every year and think, "Gosh, I could have bought two really nice guitars for all the money I've spent on Heritage," but I always renew, just for the peace of mind if nothing else.

Thanks, y'all. Yeah, we are wondering if they knew about the instruments. At a minimum, they knew we weren't there. They rummaged through the whole house and really took their time. Got some other stuff too, but of course the instruments are what I care about most!

So sorry to hear this. I had my first D-28 stolen from our home in 1988 and it still breaks my heart.

Best of Luck,
Scott

It surprises me how many people on this forum post what is in their guitar collection at the bottom of postings for everyone to see. With a little internet detective work it is often possible to find out who we are and where we live. Not everyone who gathers data has our best interests at heart.

Using data gleaned from this forum and the internet, I was able to find an individuals real name, location, address, phone number, occupation, and with google earth they appear to have had a red vehicle parked in the lane at some point. And it took me all of about 5 minutes. I don't doubt that the same could be found out about me in just as short of a time frame.

Sorry to hear for your loss. Burglars are some of the worst scum of society.
