That was stunningly good, Doug!

I remember this piece very well from your "Closing Time" CD. The entire album was delightful, and I've listened to it in detail dozens of times.

I so appreciate hearing and seeing you play this on video. And that Traugott guitar sounds sublime!

Thanks for this! Just wonderful! I love the video background, too! Well done!

Nice tonal palette! When I saw the title I thought someone had a fingerstyle version of the tune by Semisonic. This is WAY better!

Simply wonderful! Sounds great.

Doug, you demo'd a 1944 Martin 00-21 that is probably the video on YouTube that I have I have watched the most. Kept coming back to it after having a chance to buy one from the late 30's.

Pretty cool you post here, I've learned a lot from what you have shared in the Recording Forum. I thank you for your contribution!

Was that one I demo'd for Gryphon? I remember that guitar being really nice. If you're on my you tube channel, you might enjoy the video I made with a 1926 Martin OOO that I recently got. Old Martins just have some extra magic in them.

Thanks. I don't actually know that one. Tom Waits had a song by that name, which may be where I subconsciously got the title.

Thanks, Glenn. If I recall, on the CD I recorded the tune with my Ryan - I didn't have the Traugott back then. For some reason I tried it on the Traugott recently, and I liked how it worked, partly inspiring me to shoot a video of the tune.

Thanks. Recording chain on this was pretty simple - just the AT4050 stereo mic into a Zoom H6.

Hey Doug,

I truly enjoyed this. Flawless technique and I loved how it swung from fingerstyle, to blues, and then (somehow) to what seemed to be a conversation between two patrons leaving the establishment.

A joy to watch.

And certainly more fun than the song by Semisonic I originally anticipated!

Cheers,

-Dave
