I agree with this. I put on fresh strings on any new guitar. You don't usually know how long they have been on the guitar or if they had been played (like in a shop environment).

Yes, new strings made all the difference. Today I tried the 000-28 again with D’Addario XT’s. I compared it to my WL-12. The Martin didn’t make the Waterloo sound bad, but I think it was better across the board, including the trebles. Now I have a decision to make. I really like my WL-12 but I would have to sell it to get the Martin.

Easy decision. Sell the WL.

Those 000/OM guitars are so versatile, and the 000-28 is one of the best. Nothing wrong with the Waterloo either, but I'd go with the Martin personally. Great guitars.

I have to say, I am sure my D17M did - but it sounded absolutely great when I picked it up first, and a few years later, it sounds even greater.

I just took delivery of a new (2018) 000-28 and my goodness...it is simply incredible straight out of the case. Serial Number indicates it is a minty fresh made-in-2019 model and I love it.

Absolutely, if you can get a better guitar and it is within reason financially for you, go for it. It is difficult to find a better guitar 'across the board' - usually guitars have different strengths and one does not do better across the board. If that happens, that's a easy decision.

$3000 is pretty steep for that guitar unless it is the EC model. You should contact one of the sponsors and ask for a price. Most wii pay shipping and take returns.

I see a 000-28 on the horizon in a few months. I think I’ll stick with Guitars Etc because they have been so helpful.
