Forgotten Dreams - re-recorded with Zoom
I finally got around to re-recording "Forgotten Dreams (Tyler's Song). A song I wrote with my 11 year old son in mind. It's a tough song for me to play because of emotional reasons (see the song's "info" link).
I played my GS and used two external mics (V setup) into the H4 and then I imported the MP3 file into my software, copied the track to a second track and panned each track in the opposite direction. I also added a touch of reverb. Here's the link to the song: Forgotten Dreams (Tyler's Song) I tried to mute strings as recommended by Howard Emerson in another thread regarding a different song. Its something I never really gave a thought to, but if you want a professional sounding recording I think its a good idea. I'm far from perfecting the technique, but even some muting helps a song alot.

Very nice recording of such a beautifull song Barry. It's the emotion of a song that makes it what it is, and allows others to feel it too.
I felt it. Nice job... |

Sounds good Barry! I enjoyed that, but maybe speed it up just a small bit.

Actually it is a tad faster than the original recording - do you think it would be smoother if it was a touch faster or is it just a personal preference of yours? It is a song that mourns the impending mortality of my child (albiet in the long distant future - he isn't sick or anything) and the tempo of it reflects my mood when I wrote it. Read the songs "info" and you'll see what I mean.
