Default My beloved Northwood R80-MJV : FOR SALE

For those who don’t know John McQuarrie (Ex Larrivee) builds his Northwood guitars with fine detail and superb tone! I’ve never played a dull one to date.

In my opinion this particular guitar is one of the most rich, resonant, responsive acoustics I’ve ever played. Unbelievable sustain and dynamic range, you won’t want to put it down. 2002, Indian rosewood back and sides with an engelmann spruce top along with ebony fretboard, bridge and headplate. It’s rich and bold but not too ‘blingy’ with just the right amount of mother of pearl around the sound hole (Taylor 814e style).

25.5" scale, 45mm nut width, 55mm spacing at saddle. Standard was for light gauge strings, 3/32 bass side, 1/16 treble.

Located in Vancouver but can ship anywhere in the world.

$3300 CAD

My two cents: I own one of these beauties - sans cutaway, otherwise identical - and it is, hands down, the finest guitar I ever played. I agree with all the OP’s superlatives regarding tone, sustain, balance and playability. Northwood builder John McQuarrie is a master.

You really need to clarify about the built-in electronics on this one. This could be a deal breaker for someone.

Hi totally forgot about the electronics. It has a B-Band A5 which has always been great. I’ve not played a ton via the pickup but it’s always been reliable and there’s lots of nice EQ options with this one. More information an be found here

Also I can accept Bitcoin if anyone’s interested in that.
