Probably ships not this Friday, probably next Friday if future performance is like the past.

But as the saying goes "Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

Congrats. I'll be watching this thread for pics of yours and hints of when mine might arrive. It's been promised end of this month, but I've heard nothing. Going into my 7th month.

Every time I see one of these threads I'm reminded of the scene in Shrek The Third when Pinocchio is questioned by Prince Charming. This is what happens when you insert the back and forth we see here all the time:

Waiting for an Emerald: Where is my guitar?

Forum: Well, uh, we don't know where it is not.

Waiting for an Emerald: You don't know where my guitar is?

Forum: On the contrary.

Waiting for an Emerald: So you do know where it is!

Forum: We are possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that we undeniably...

Waiting for an Emerald: Stop It!

Forum: ...do or do not know where it shouldn't probably be. If that indeed it wasn't where it isn't!

Hope this helps. Happy waiting!

No wagering...

But my bet is that it won't make this Friday's shipping, but it will hang around Donegal for whatever it does, set-up, qa, packing, sipping coffee, waiting for the coffee mug, getting a tracking number, saying goodbye to everyone, and might get into the box and depart on the next Friday. But not before it's worked itself up for travel. It'll then wander around Ireland for a few days, finally head to Koln, get on a plane, visit the customs guys, then show up the following mid week in a brown truck. The are really fun to watch make the trip.

Update 2: Got my UPS shipping notice on Monday Apr 26 just before noon local (just before 3 in Ireland). As of Friday Apr 30 at 4:30 pm local (7:30 pm on the Emerald Isle) it's still showing as "Label Created"...

Phil

PS: I continue to check the shipping status a few times every day. As of 3:30 local Monday, May 3 (6:30 pm Irish time), tracking still shows only "label created."

They sent me some glamor shots, but yeah, I get the feeling it’ll be much as you say, lol. It’s ok, I can be patient. Thanks for the laugh, though!

Supposedly it will ship tomorrow. I paid for the traceable shipping and should get the info when it is picked up. I’ll figure that won’t come until Thursday, and we’ll see what the shipping time says.

Default X20

I ordered a custom X20 on Friday with a more narrow neck, Hexpander midi and piezo, hard case, Afzelia veneer, etc and was quoted 4 months so we’ll see.

Update 3: Well, it's May 7th at 10 pm local and a second Friday has come and gone. The UPS tracking for my X20 still reads "label created" so it has still not actually shipped.

On Monday around noon local it will have been two full weeks since I received the "shipping notice" that is, apparently, not really a shipping notice.

Is it just me or is this getting ridiculous...?

Phil

It really is mind bending the seemingly inexplicable time between "label" and "gone" at Emerald.

Probably a good reason, hopefully QA/setup. But no way to know.

This really might be one way Emerald could share status by sn, email updates, etc. I can't imagine they build *that* many instruments that a small builder couldn't do bi-weekly canned status reports. That would really be "breaking the mould".

Heck, they used to do a full-fledged shipping video on Fridays as they launched their children into the world, but not seen that in a while.

To find the Ireland shutdown status search: gov Ireland covid

Ireland remains at level 5 which means:
- work from home
- only essential workers at work locations

Irish gov website has a list of tentative re-openings in May/June.

Anxious customers could ask Emerald (email or website pop-up) when they expect to ship their next batch.

Cheers.

Yes, every county in Ireland is currently under Level 5 restrictions, their highest category.

In a communication with Emerald earlier this week I mentioned missing the Friday shipping videos for the past month+. Here is the response to that...

"The shipping videos have currently been discontinued for the mean time.

With shipping becoming more complicated during Covid, the shipping videos are more difficult to schedule."

Wishing the best to those waiting for their new guitars during these challenging times,

Lance
