Default Removing white spots from wood tables?

Looking for magic home remedies...

I put a piece of very hot pizza on a paper plate and set it on the oak wood dinette table.
The pizza was very good.
The white mark that is still on the table, not so much.
I did try lemon oil with no result.
And rubbing with baking soda and water, also no result.
Both of those came from a google search.

Thanks!

try mayonnaise or peanut butter, but leave it on for hours.

I had some white marks on some furniture due to heat. I laid a thick coat of Liquid Gold on them, rubbed it in and let it sit for about an hour before I rubbed them in again. It removed most of the white. I'll be doing it again. But it sure looks much better.

Tried mayonnaise today. Thick coat rubbed in. Sat for about 5 hours.
No effect on the white spot.
The surrounding area sure looks good though.

Moisture has penetrated into the finish, causing the white cloudiness. The oils in the mayonnaise sometimes help disperse it. I've had moderate success using it and vaseline. Another fix I've seen is using an iron with low heat on top of a towel, making a few light passes, and checking progress. I've never tried it, but who knows.

Actually - Mr. Clean works. But I wonder if this is a job for Nitro blush remover?

Layman's thinking is if moisture penetrated to under the finish...
Then it would eventually dry up.
But those marks seem to stay forever.

I have read about the ironing trick.
Saving it for a last resort.

I'm thinking if heat was used to get the moisture in, heat may be needed to get it out. That's why it doesn't dry on its own?

Last resort would be sanding it out and throwing on a new finish.

This is a timely post for me. I just bought a living room full of Amish wood furniture. It'll arrive in June sometime after they make it. I started researching doilies and end table covers and protections. It's probably what the Op will have to do to cover the white spot.
