I had been hunting around for a used limited edition black on black Vox AC10C1 with the up-spec Celestion speaker that was available the last year or so and came across this minty fresh example just 45 minutes from my home.
The seller is away till next week so I have to wait till Saturday for pick up.
This will be another grab and go amp for me to go along with the Fender Super Champs I have had such good results with.

Enjoy your new amp. I was just listening to some Youtube clips and it sounds sweet and takes pedals well for some low volume crunch. Very nice!

Thanks Paul. How do you like your Squier vintage modified tele? I am really digging these new Squier models. I saw a 70’s deluxe tele they are doing with the Stratocaster neck and headstock! i better get another job😂

My Squier vintage modified telecaster special is this model bought around 2012:

https://www.gak.co.uk/en/squier-vint...e-blonde/56131

It has a Jazzmaster neck and neck pickup and a normal telecaster body and bridge/pickup. It's not my favourite guitar compared to my new Gretsch G5220 and Classic Vibe telecaster I bought s/h a couple of years ago. Over the years I modified it: new graphtech nut, graphtech string trees, graphtech saddles.
Later on I rewired it with new CTS pots and wires, treble bleed circuit, Tonerider Hot Classic bridge pickup, Oil City Blues stratocaster neck pickup and a new pickguard of course. Oh and I fully screened the guitar with copper tape and it was much quieter.
I treated it to an expensive fret level and the guitar was not much better after the fret level. It sounds great to be honest with the pickup swap and stays in tune really well. But I can't get the action any lower which bothers me. The classic vibe tele is a better guitar for me and I don't plan to change much on that guitar.

Sweet, Congrats! What speaker typically comes in the AC10 / AC amps?

I’ve never seen a tele with a jazzmaster neck before, Paul. Too, too cool. But it seems you like the 50’s Squier model better. Must be a reason for that, especially after all the love you put into the vintage modified. That 50’s must be a special axe. Thanks for indulging me with the modified build specs.

Hey very cool and here is a thought ( IF it is not outside your wheelhouse). What about getting an ABY splitter and doing a wet/dry rig. I am thinking the Vox and a Champ might be great together and sound pretty deep and wide

No reason no to try it, Kev. The pedal is already on my board. What could be bad!

Thanks, 3. You’ve been having a rough couple of days, and it’s very nice of you to be happy for me. You’re OK in my book, buddy!

I have been toying with the idea also. I am set with two pretty good amps and some decent mono pedals, analog Drive, Chorus, and Delay, and a digital reverb (although my Supro has a tube driven spring reverb on board. So all I would need is a splitter pedal.

When I was shopping around for an AB/Y pedal I think I remember seeing they started at around $30. Not a big investment to see if you like the result. You just need the right kind of venue to support running a dual amp setup. But I agree, it sure would sound grand!

At the moment I use mine to split my pedal board to a boosted/distorted/lead tone side and a chorus/delay/ambiance side.

It just dawned on me why I never saw this model tele/jazzmaster set up before.
You, my friend, are across the pond!!!
Wow, so fender offered this to you and not us. How interesting is that.

I just saw there is one for sale on reverb.com that was purchased in London in 2012, and now resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Congrats on the Vox AC10C1 - my first choice for amp, even with the stock speaker -

The Squier Classic Vibe Telecasters are pretty special - the quality of fretboard finish, woods, controls and even pickups is off the charts for the price, and falls in line with the concept of an affordable guitar - it has become so ubiquitous that it’s designation has even exceeded the electric field, to be recognized as a great, everyday guitar, period. After having owned a top level MIM, I can say the only other option is the American Original or Professional, one piece maple neck, to exceed the Squiers for performance value.
