Back to photos. Winter in Minnesota is not exactly conducive to going outside and wandering around with a camera - and I realize that it's not exactly pleasant in many other parts of the world either.
However, after shoveling a metric buttload of snow off my deck last weekend to get through to the bird feeders, I decided to reward myself with a shot or two. This, with my Sigma sd Quattro and 18-300 lens, made the grade out of an otherwise motley selection. Spring cannot arrive soon enough.

I got a Nikon D750 about 5 years ago and still use that every once in a while. But, I got a Sony a7iii about 2 years ago and have been using that more lately. I have both a Canon and Nikon adapter for it that works pretty well, so I use the Sony with some of my Nikon lenses, a few Canon lenses (used they are the cheapest and they are of excellent quality), and a couple Sony lenses.
I also have a converted Ricoh GXR which is used for infrared and a Sigma Merrill DP 2 which I break out sometimes as well. All my cameras are very good an I'm happy with them.

I still use a Nikon CoolPix 995 for most of my photography.

Thanks, Mr. Paul! When I stand on my driveway and look to the south, I have a nice view of your mountains, the Sangre Ds. If I had a decent camera with a long lens, I could take some really nice shots of them. They really put on a show some days!

Some images from our trip to Sweden this summer. This is the medieval port town of Visby, on the island of Gotland, off the southeast coast of Sweden. The central church with wooden steeples is the German church. Visby was a center of the Hanseatic League, a german trading and defensive federation from the 14th through 17th centuries. The wall surrounding the town is from the 12th century, nearly 1000 years old and in amazing condition.
It's one of the most beautiful towns I've ever visited. |

This should be the poster for the Australian Wildlife Rescue Organisation, WIRES.
Great pic, great song and quite poignant together. |

I fully agree with others in this thread: A stunning photograph. That's a New Holland Honeyeater, I believe (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae).
