I understand the brand loyalty, I really do.

On the flip-side, I've seen more open complaints about Emerald than any other carbon fiber manufacturer. A set up is a personal preference and excusable, but things like fret out? Or how about not contacting a customer to let them know that a the veneer they paid $600 for is not the one that will be used on the final product?

It's a guitar forum and it isn't like we are just venting for the sake of venting when these things happen. This is first hand knowledge and hard earned money spent- hardly ignorant and impersonal attacks on the brands we love.

Entirely fair comment.

There’s just one thing I’d add - if I received a guitar from any vendor which I had issues with, the first place I’d go to for resolution would be the vendor. If I couldn’t get it sorted there, or was unsatisfied with the outcome, then I’d consider coming here to relate my experience.

So many people seem to think that venting here is the first course of action. This is a general observation of the AGF as a whole, and is not intended to cast aspersions on anyone or anything here in CF world.

I enjoy the dialogue. I mean no disrespect to anybody.

It is noteworthy that the posts are well written. That is not always the case at other forums.

As for your comment.
Emeralds advice to me was to go to a luthier.

But your comment suggests another question, that is what is the role, what is the point of a forum?

Venting, bragging, Informational, questions, bonding?

I enjoy reading the spectrum of answers to questions. For the most part I hesitate to take advice , but that's me. However I did order two 9280 saddles from Graphtech. I am going to sand down the bottom at a slight angle. I am lowering the high "E" side. Whats the worse that can happen?
I mean whats $3000? DON'T ANSWER THAT.

All of the above, I think I come to the AGF several times a day - I've been here since 2007. I probably spend more time here than everywhere else I visit on the internet combined.

I don't post a lot (mostly here in the CF subforum), but am happy to swallow up advice, anecdotes, opinions (and the occasional bout of abject nonsense) from the forum as a whole. I learn something new and useful at least weekly, and love the way the place is run. It encourages civility and reasonable discourse - as, I hope, this thread has demonstrated.

Ok, I won't

Looks like Emerald is hiring a production manager to address coordination and quality issues (Facebook page).

Nothing is "easy peasy"!
Nothing just takes 5 minutes.

I don't see where it says the new hire will address coordination and quality issues.

I could be wrong, but it looks like three separate job titles...
