This morning while having our morning coffee, a doe with twin spotted fawns crossed our driveway, very life affirming

Hey - so did I. 3 Deer across the road, 400 feet from my house this morning. I noticed them from my office (working). Probably the same ones I've seen in my backyard before ... and left tracks in my newly seeded lawn, lol.

I don't have cable TV but stream television via Amazon Fire Stick. It's been kind of an experimental process to see what I watch and am willing to pay extra for. This has been very satisfactory, but got even better a month or so ago when I began streaming Sirius. Right now I'm listening to "The QUEEN Channel" and am finding that I listen to news and music via Sirius much, much more than actually watching TV. I've dropped all of my Premium Channels except Sirius and Netflix and loving it.

Maintaining the deer theme, I saw this group of five grazing behind my cabin this morning...

For me and my wife, wildlife is arguably the most life affirming and optimistic aspects of living where we do.

Enjoying my morning walk. I’m optimistic my neighbor will have a great squash harvest this year.

Since we had the new roof on our condo building (large building, flat roof), we can hear the rain more easily. I love the sound of rain and we live on the top floor.

The old roof was just that, the old tar and gravel. The new roof is some new kind of sheeting that has a slight slope (2 -3 degrees) to help water run off. Our building has 24 condos on a floor, with three floors. It is large enough that we get half the roof done at a time, typically about 5 years apart so we don't run out of reserve funds and can avoid assessments on the homeowners. I am on the board, so I am very well aware of these kinds of things.

Anyway, the new roof has proved itself through several heavy rains, so I get to enjoy the sound of rain without the worry about any leaks.

By the way, I love those outdoor pictures folks are posting here.

Here's a couple from the garden. It's been a good year weather wise. I think there is something very meditative and relaxing about working the soil.

Thanks, the pictures aren't so great but oh well. Interesting to see my squash is ahead of your neighbor's.

Many farmers plant squash a little later here to avoid one of the pests that seem to attack squash early in the season. We plant ours early, but since he’s put in so much, I guess he doesn’t want to take a chance.

BTW he hoes every single plant by hand before he runs his tractor through the field in both directions.

I’m just happy to still be alive with a roof over my head.
Horrible 2 years, but I’ll make it.
