Default PSA - New amp from Elite Acoustics

Hadn’t seen this posted. If you like EAE products, they claim the D6-58 is the most advanced battery powered acoustic and vocal amplifier in the market.

As seems to be a pattern, the marketing page could use some work. Details at http://www.eliteacoustics.com/portfo...amplifier-2-2/.

Thank you for notifying us! Looks really interesting but is quite heavy (30lbs/13kg). Wonder how the sound and throw compares to the popular products like Bose S1 and AER Compact Mobile (which is its direct competition).

Looks somewhat interesting and an actual honest power rating of 120 watts RMS is refreshing.
It apparently has an 8" woofer and 5.5" mid driver, but they're calling them both woofers. Like the idea of the 1" soft dome tweeter too.

Not sure where you got the 60 from, what I'm seeing is "120 WATT LITHIUM BATTERY POWERED ACOUSTIC AMPLIFIER WITH 6 CHAN DIGITAL MIXER".

120 watt battery is not the same as a 120 watt output amplifier.
Looks good, but I did have some doubt when the fellow mentioned that is was the CLOSEST to a P A SYSTEM that he had played thru.....
Methinks I should stay with the PA system. 😇

It looks wonderful! I love everything about my Elite Acoustics D6-8 except for it's limited 40 watt power, and SLA battery. The Elite Acoustics sound quality is always superb!

I agree. The d68 is a great amp I just find myself
Butting up against its limits Occasionally.
Another nice feature the pole mount is on
The side of the cab not the bottom . So when
It's up on a pole you can still see the controls
And the screen...brilliant.. I may be selling some
Stuf.

Most every powered speaker system publishes their peak power rating to make it seem like you're getting more power than you actually are which is why QSC 1000 watt speakers are actually 500, and their newer series advertising 2000 watts are of course, just 1000.
120 watts peak equates to a 60 watt rms power section but apparently EAE gives a more accurate rating with an actual 120 watt RMS.

Epic fail, as this amplifier uses a volatile Lithium Polymer battery. Never, ever recommend a product you do not own, use, or have used for a significant period of time. Here's a real world video of volatile LiPo failure:

A little battery safety info (the kind used by elite acoustics is LiFeP04) https://www.batterystuff.com/kb/arti...-overview.html

very informative, according to the site,

"The LiFePO4 batteries are the safest type of Lithium batteries as they will not overheat, and even if punctured they will not catch on fire."

Can this amp just be plugged into a wall socket or does it run on battery only?
