Default A little warm-up with a John Prine cover - Angel from Montgomery

My friend Shelley and I were recording her fiddle tracks and harmonies on one of my own projects today, and recorded some "fiddling' around" footage as a warm-up...this is one of the results ;-)

Awesome Brent!

You two sound great! Your voice is always great, your guitar sounds really good, and Shelley's violin is right on the money. She gets very good tone with great intonation!

I don't think I realized that song was written by John Prine. It's so often sung by a woman, but it works well with you singing it.

Well done!

- Glenn

Well done sir, and m'lady!

Thanks for sharing.. I enjoyed that. I love that it's simple, just a guitar and a fiddle.

Thanks, Glenn. You’ve probably heard Bonnie Rait or the Tedeschi Trucks versions - both of which are amazing. John wrote it ;-)

That’s the d28 I was thinking about swapping for a 714 Ltd - I recorded some tracks for my song with it last night - it is staying with me ;-)

Patriotism makes me root Jays, but my heart is Carter and Dawson.

Those names kinda give my age away if the grey in the beard don’t ;-)

Ha!...I have plenty of gray in my beard as well. More of a salt and pepper really.

Carter and Dawson.. I remember them fondly. When I was a young boy it was baseball all summer long in the local parks and my Dad taking me to Wrigley occasionally. My first game was in 1972! I still have the Cubs pennant my dad bought me at that game.

Nice! We've got our fingers crossed up here. Lots of talk about getting the 'Spo's back, but it's probably just that...lots of talk.

Hey great I play the song also . I think one outstanding songwriting feature about that song it is the fact that the message , can be sung by either male of female and doesn't really loose the meaning or context.
