Default Has anyone tried the new D'Addario XT strings?

Just wondering if anyone has tried out the new D'Addario XT Phosphor strings, and what your thoughts are on them?

Thanks,
m

Just picked up a set but haven't tried them yet. I'm guessing the XT is the EXP replacement?

2 pertinent comments here recently. (In spite of the title, it was decided the OP meant XT).

I put them on a Taylor K22 and like the guitar now more than ever. I'm going to put them on my 00-18 at the next string change. I really like them so far.

I sure hope not. They didn't sound as good to my ears.

I don't know but I didn't see any EXP's when I picked up a set of XT's the other day? Could be they were out of stock?

Being that Strings and Beyond are blowing out EXP's at BOGO prices, I'd wager they're the replacement.

I for one like them a lot. I've had them on my Larrivee for just over a month, and am quite happy. I've even been changing tuning quite a bit from standard to CGCGCD, and while they're not as spunky as they once were, they still sound great.

I tried a set. Less bright than Elixir Nanowebs. Better feel. Sounded like an uncoated string. And lasted about as long...

I went back to Monels, which have more power and last longer than the XT's.

I just got troubled by a report of fake D'Addario strings.
Has anyone encountered these? What's most troubling some were bought at local music stores. I bought two packs yesterday and need to have them checked out. 😨

Daddario has a player's club where you enter the number inside the packet for rewards. That would verify their authenticity.

XTs are the replacement for EXPs - I was told that by a D’Addario rep yesterday in response to another enquiry.

He also said that there are lots of EXPs still out there in the marketplace, so you should be able to get them pretty easily for a while yet.

I sure hope they don't discontinue the EXP, tried the new XT, first 2 weeks I loved them but they faded really fast for me, within 30 days put EXP's back on. Happy again.

What was your K22 strung with before?
