So who's coming to Woodstock?

That is going to be a pretty instrument. Does Somogyi use a bolt on neck or a dovetail? Same question for Jason. Looks like a bolt on.

Neither, somogyi uses a pinned mortise and tenon. He explains how he does it and his reasoning in his book. I think Jason uses the same neck joint.

It's a permanent joint, effectively an integral neck, like a Spanish heel. Much more difficult to reset the neck angle than a dovetail or bolt-on, but Ervin seems to be in the camp that believes resets are not inevitable, provided that you beef up the headblock area compared to what is used in many guitars. I think he said he's only had to do 4, out of over 400 guitars so far, so it appears to be true.

Here is the picture of what I think the neck block is:

I guess the cantalievered neck block is part of the tie into the neck in that there is support for the stress of the neck just under the top of the guitar which perhaps they are tying into. A neat way of doing it.

Thanks for posting the picture, Eric! Yes, it was great to meet Jason, to get a chance to play a couple of his guitars, and to listen to Michael Watts' mini-concert. In fact, we're holding Michael's guitar for this picture.
