12 string and fingerstyle?
When playing fingerstyle on a 12 string, do you hit both strings? Determine attack from above or below to hit the right octave string?
Just curious (mostly) as I am starting to play (well, trying) more fingerstyle on my 6 string.

Do you use the bare finger/nail approach or fingerpicks?
I use the latter and never have a problem as both strings in each course ring equally when I strike them... from either angle.

|
For a right handed player the thumb hits the left hand string of a pair first and the fingers hit the right hand string of a pair first. There is just a bit of a knack required to follow through with fingers and thumb so that both strings sound.
