Nice guitar. Eventually you will want to try some flat picks, and Fender thin would be a good one to start with. You will love the tone. Have fun!

I read your comment on my phone last evening- I have a .46 flat pick, pretty thin- I tried it. No. I don't like the way a pick sounds sitting on top of the guitar like I do when I play- it's too brash from that perspective/angle/whatever it's called- the first song I learned to strum, 50+ years ago I did with my thumb only- the off and on playing (mostly off) since then has been with my thumb-

Gdjjr, you mention that changing the strings on your Gretch is a big deal.

Is that because it has a Bigsby on it? If the answer is yes, Vibramate fairly recently has offered an attachment for Bigsby trems that make string changes a snap. Not cheap, I think around $40 or so, but it looks to be a tremendous improvement in design. Take a look on their site.

Yes, I've looked at the Vibramate String Spoiler- also been directed to using an eraser, one of the large ones and the Gretsch web site recommends a sponge wedged under the "axles" (is what they call the little pins)- if I can ever remember to get an eraser I'll try that next time.
