They’re not in 5th place in the NL central. As long as the Pirates are owned by their current regime the Cardinals will have somebody behind them in their division.

Not much positive in Boston either, Kerbie. Good thing is that it's only a 60 game season so less of a pain to sit through.

Well, I see the KC Royals have lost 6 in a row. Maybe 7, haven't checked the box scores yet this morning.

Their pitching staff is getting shelled, giving up the long ball too often, and losing games on one swing of the bat.

Might not even make it to 60.

It seems to me that mostly players are just going through the motions.

I'm a baseball guy but I have to say, in my opinion, this is not a "season" for MLB. It is nothing more than a way to salvage some money for the owners and players in a lost season. I see this entire season and playoffs as an exhibition.

I can see where you're coming from for sure, I was feeling that way about hockey especially, but even though it's short, it's still going to be the best team that wins, or the team that plays best, just like every year. For myself I kept thinking "how am I even going to consider it a legit championship win for the winning teams in sports?" But it's still the best team wins, meaning the other teams failed. I don't know, trying to help myself make sense i of it. If it were up to me I'd have waited till next year.

The Cardinals might not make it. Tonight's game against the Cubs have been cancelled and perhaps the entire series is at risk. The Cards have a lot of doubleheaders coming up.

Looks as if the series with the Pirates is nixed, too.

But there’s something about not losing that’s pleasing when a game is canceled. At least Kerbie ain’t a Redsox fan.

Never!

I think the Cards should just set their sights on 2021.

Same with the Red Sox but with the extra wild card teams this year there's some hope, although slim.

How about Gerrit Cole of the Yankees? He had a 5-0 lead today and was one strike away from winning his 20th straight win before giving up runs and getting pulled for a no decision. He'll try again next start.

I don't think it was correct to charge the guy with an error here:

They should have credited him with an assist.

Maybe MLB should have contracted with EA to go with a "virtual option" like public schools are offering parents?

It's sad. Cards have only played 5 games where the other teams in their division have played 16, 14, 16, 13. Cards have way too many games to make up in such a short schedule. Even the Marlins have played 10 games and it started with them.
