Hey everyone!
I'm pretty new to the AGF, and I have registered for the Artisan Guitar Show. It will be my first ever guitar show, so to intensify the experience I've registered for the VIP package. I'm in the process of planning travel now, driving from Colorado. A couple of questions for the Artisan veterans: 1. It looks like there are no events Friday during the day; the first stirrings are Friday evening. Is that correct? 2. Is Sunday a full day, and do people stay at the hotel Sunday evening? Thanks all

I suspect that the event schedule is not finalized yet. The show ends on Sunday afternoon. All shows are typically pretty quiet near their close. I am attending Friday through Sunday early afternoon.

This show looks great and there are already a number of folks from the forum planning to be there who I would love to meet. Unfortunately, it is too soon for me to go from a lockdown position to something like this. We just have to be very cautious in our personal situation. Appreciate the posting of upcoming shows. Hoping that it will be ok for me to try and attend the Woodstock event later in the year. Had a fantastic time at the 1st Artisan Show a few years back and I am sure you folks will enjoy this one too.
Jeff

Hey Guys!
I've got your back on how to recognize our AGF buddies. I made 20 of these badges already for the show so we can find each other. You will find Tim and me at our booth which has always been close to the entry door at the Artisan show. We will have on a black or red t-shirt that has our business name on it. We won't hard to find. These badges will be for AGF members only. If you still have one from the past you can wear it. Please be sure to ask for one when you stop by the booth. You can't be shy. If I am busy it's Ok to introduce yourself and don't let me be a slacker on handing these out. They are free. One per person. I will have a felt marker to write your AGF name once you tell me how to spell it. I will also write your personal name should you care to have it written, but since this is just for fun you are not required to give me your age, rank and serial number. When the 20 badges are gone, they are gone. You will see these badges worn by others so speak to the AGF brother who is wearing hers/his. In the past at the artisan show John, the owner of the Artisan show, has created a gathering area in the main entry for all who pre-sign up through him. He will explain details far better than I. The venue is spacious and absolutely beautiful. I am not the one in charge of any special events but John can be contacted through his site. Please realize his staff, to my knowledge, are all volunteers. They are amazing and a simple thank you always means a lot. As I put on an event together at our own business I assure you it's more work that it might appear to the outsider. If you have read through this far and you want to make me smile (or cry) be sure to tell me happy birthday. I'll be more than happy to accept gifts as door prizes for our 2022 McJam. Again, it's those little things that mean a lot. By the way, let me suggest you put the badge on your right sleeve. Why? If you pick up a guitar at any booth, badges tend to scratch guitars. There are professional luthiers with the policy, you scratch, you buy. Don't be that person unless you want to be THAT person.

Oh cool! My wife and I might try to make our way out. It sounds like a heck of an opportunity to meet some great builders and musicians

Thank you. My birthday is during the guitar show. That's why I'll give you a little gift of a painted "stick" and a badge.

Hi folks,
Question -- this would be my first Artisan Guitar Show but I wouldn't be able to get there until maybe 2-3 on Saturday. Are most of the vendors still there on Sunday morning ? Other activities still going on Sunday morning? Lastly, do people sell guitars (and perhaps related items like at a swap meet) at this event ? THANKS! |
