Default Comparing Brazilian Mahogany to Torrefied Maple

Boucher has come out with a entirely new tonewood for the guitar industry, Torrefied Maple. In this video we compared the Brazilian Mahogany HG-46 to the Torrefied Maple of the GR-HG-166-T. Both are 12 fret 000 with torrefied Adirondack tops. Let me know what you think!

There is a major difference in sound there and not in a way I would have expected.

They are both well projecting, but I still love the fuzzy little bumble bee warmth of the Hog, though it might not be quite as loud in the room?

Yes, there is a noticeable difference in volume, but you would only notice the volume difference in comparison. If you were to just pick up the Hog and play you would not think it was quite. The mahogany adds an excellent softness to the tone. The torrefied maples is so unique. Strong and clear. Unlike anything I've ever heard.

Maple is very under rated.

I'll have a comparison video out soon of a custom Larrivee 000-40 with Maple back and Moon Spruce top.
