You are all probably wondering why this build thread has paused for the last couple of weeks. Well, after a lot of thought Ray and I decided to build a parlor instead, so he's slowly disassembling everything so he can recut the top and back and rebend the sides.

Sorry Juston - we are all too wise to you now! Where is the MD?!

Cheers,

... I would assume this is a joke

Never heard of someone deciding to go from a dread to a parlor in the middle of a build

Ray took a quick break after Woodstock. We should be up and running later this week.

I've always dreamed of having a custom built guitar with a matching set of super long chop sticks. After a lot of discussion on the design, Ray and I finally decided on the set below. I'm really happy with how they turned out and they'll look great when I'm eating noodles in the same room as my guitar.

This is coming along great!! Thanks for sharing, I remember being very impressed with the Kraut MD I played at Healdsburg last time. You are in for a treat.

Awwww yeah. When the router comes out, you know what time it is baby. It's business time!

Ray will gather up the ebony dust and use it to make a shake later in the day. This will help him to better understand the final shaping of the guitar's tone. It will also probably result in indigestion.

One of the decisions I had to make very early on was one you are all familiar with - the old glue or masking tape debate. Now, I understand all of the tonal advantages of masking tape, but I'm still having trouble with the aesthetics now that I see the full effect.

A lot of that is Ray. He's so patient and open to new ideas the whole process is really a blast. He really goes out of his way.
