Default Yamaha TransAcoustic EQ Adjustment Mode

Question for Yamaha TransAcoustic Owners

I recently bought an LL-TA - great guitar and like others, once I heard the TA system, I was hooked (and I have a Tonewood Amp also).

I have been playing with the effects and noticed that the owners manual had a small insert describing an midrange EQ adjustment capability on the TA electronics. I tried it and found that you can make a significant change in the sound of the TA by turning the volume knob once you have entered the EQ mode. I am curious if others have tried adjusting this parameter. If so, what did you find the best setting to be? I found that if I turned up the volume knob above 2:00 in EQ mode, the guitar effect became almost overly enhanced in the midrange band. Now that I have adjusted it, I am not sure what the original "factory" setting is for the guitar. The instructions do not mention it, only that turning the volume knob fully to the right will disable the EQ fully. Personally I am finding that adjusting the know to 2:00 position give the LL-TA a nice midrange punch with the TA effect.

Any input from other Yamaha TA owners on their settings would be great. Thank you.

Bump.

Any other Yamaha Transacoustic players out there with experience adjusting the EQ setting?

Thanks.

I keep mine turned to about the 9-9:30 position (most of the way left as you look at the volume knob). Seems less "zingy".

I never made any adjustments originally. When I replaced the stock urea saddle with a bone saddle it made the guitar acoustically a touch louder and also would kind of overdrive the transacoustic in certain positions. I adjusted the EQ. I never messed around with the entire range yet but like you I settled around 2 o' clock.

Thanks for the responses. I agree that turning the EQ setting up too much does make the sound zingy - changes the character of the guitar's sound IMO. The EQ setting provides quite a bit of adjustment to the sound - more than I expected for a feature that is not discussed much or even described by Yamaha..

I tried a bone saddle but went back to the Urea saddle - I thought the Urea saddle brought out more of the"piano-like" sound of the guitar. But - I did not adjust the EQ setting while the bone saddle was in the guitar. I should try that.
