Lows in the mid-60's reaching into the mid-80's here. Relative humidity about 55%. Submarine layer early morning fog gives way to clear skies by mid-morning most days.

Heading for NazFest in eastern Pennsylvania the first weekend of August, we shall see if I have retained the ability to function in mid-Atlantic heat and humidity. I am hoping the training from my childhood summertime days of running around in the sweltering temps along Rigolette Bayou will kick back in after 45 years of absence!

Currently 94 in mid-Maryland.

Yesterday was a bit too much here in Ottawa. 91 degrees F with 64% humidity. Thank goodness for AC. Last summer was worse though.

As others have said we spend all winter here complaining about the cold and snow and then spend all summer complaining about the heat. Can't we be happy for once.

It's only supposed to get into the low 80's here in northeastern Florida today, and we welcome the break. Temperatures have been encroaching the century mark, so this feels great.

Let's see....SoCal checking in here. Looks like 70 is the low and 80 the high today. Hmmm....July, September, February....pretty much the same no matter what time of year. That's why I pay that outrageous rent I suppose.

Here in the northeast we have been experiencing a second heat wave. My sister and I have been staying by my mom who is 89 years. We broke down and got a portable air conditioner by Wynter. It has been brilliant and makes me wonder why we ever suffered thru those hot and humid days and nights in the past. I love it.

We had a week of "higher than average" temps - which isn't all that high by most standards. Now we have "lower than average".

Ha! I'll pay the price! My hope is to only use the air conditioner when it is oppressively hot and humid. Then just wheel it away until it is needed again. I guess in my old age (60) I am seeking comfort!

I run this 2 ton mini-split unit in either dehumidification (cool) mode or low/medium-fan cool mode continuously throughout the summer. This single unit keeps the entire 2500 sq ft house @ 71 degrees F/ 55% RH for between $10 - $25 a month. Of course, it depends on having a very energy efficient building envelope. I should add that the outdoor high temperature reached 90 degree 11 days during the month of July and nighttime lows were generally above 65.
