Best D18 for Bluegrass flatpicking?
1937 Authentic - the late #1 MandoBro Stan Jay had one that my normally-jaded wife aptly described as "mind-blowing," and if that Louisville Slugger neck wasn't an issue I probably would've bought it before it found its way to his collection...

I have a Martin D18 from 2013 that is a great bluegrasser . Too bad Martin discontinued the D18GE . I passed on that to get the D18 because the D18 was a tad more versatile than the GE in my opinion , but for straight up bluegrass the d18ge is tough to beat . Other makers may make a version that may be better built, but tonewise the GE stands out in my book. Cant go wrong with either though.
