Angry Guitar dream!

Last night I dreamed that I purchased a D-18, and really enjoyed it! When I woke up I realized I'd overpaid about $1,000 for it and that I don't actually want to buy any Sitka-topped guitars, nor are Martin dreadnoughts at the top of my priority list.

Weird! But interesting!

Have you guys had any interesting guitar dreams lately?

Nope, but maybe your subconscious knows something you don't and it's time to go try a D-18

I dreamt that my cats knocked over and destroyed one of my guitars. What a catastrophe that was!

I had a dream where I could play the guitar amazingly and with ease. Somehow my fingers just knew where to go without thought or effort. I could play any music I desired and even improvise fluidly and beautifully. It felt like flying...

... and then I woke up and entered my real world, which is kind of like a guitar nightmare.

Don't remember dreaming about guitars, but I used to dream about flying - but that is probably best not analysed!

I have lots of very complex and vivid dream - with fully formed personalities and complex plots.

just ...no .. guitars.

I never dream about guitars, either. You’d think I would but I don’t. Weird.

Maybe tonight you dream that you got back that $1000 you over payed.

Keep the D18 and play it in your dreams.

Sunday I was asked to play at a Celebration of Life for my best friend's mother that was to take place Wednesday afternoon. I didn't have anything in my repertoire that was suitable so I declined.

My darling wife started searching for suitable memorial songs and found Warren Zevon's "Keep Me in Your Heart for Awhile" which I'd heard a few times, but never explored.

So I looked at it and started working on it as it wasn't too hard. It's a really emotional tear-jerker of a song though, and my friend's mother was really like a second mother to me growing up, so I was having a hard time getting through it without my emotions taking over.

I soldiered on and worked on it intensely for hours all day Monday and into the evening, getting better with each run through and getting my emotions under control.

Now the dream:

Early Tuesday morning I woke from a dream in which I was on the beach with my guitar (the "one" that would never get near the sand). I put the guitar into its case, but didn't close the latches (late Monday evening my wife had moved my empty unlatched guitar case from the top of the trunk I had left it sitting on to the floor and when I picked it up it fell open because I foolishly assumed she had latched when she moved it).

A large wave washed across the beach, splashed over the case, lifted the lid and filled the case with water and sand! It was horrible! I frantically began mopping the water out of the case and drying the guitar and tried to figure out how I was going to get all of that sand out of it.

Then I woke up (phew).

The rest of the story:

I worked through all of my emotions regarding the song and performed it at the service with only a couple of flubs that would've only been noticed by the musicians in the audience (phew).

Many years ago I dreamed I couldn't play the guitar for toffee. Ever since, I've been living the dream

Actually, now you're dreaming that you started a thread on AGF and are reading the answers.

I dreamt I ate a giant marshmallow - when I woke up my pillow was missing.

I haven't dreamt about guitars though I do dream about song structure and solving musical issues concerning songs that I may be working on. So much so that when I hit a wall I know to wait for several days and I'll have it solved.
