Default It could have been much worse...

I slept through this rotted pine falling on the back edge of my roof and the front edge of my shed's roof. I doubt that most weekend chainsawers could have done done such a masterful job of dropping the tree between the two buildings...

Yeh, I slept through it despite being about 20 feet from my head. A chainsaw and some duct tape will make it good as new. Seriously though, it's one of those times I'm happy to be a renter and not a home owner...

Fortunately I hadn't left them outside on that part of the roof. Seriously though, I woke up early today and didn't notice anything amiss until the sun came up and I saw limb/branches just outside my kitchen window (where they weren't supposed to be)...

As a postscript, my landlord and his workers have already assessed the damage and will start working on it this afternoon.

I've been renting since the mid-90s and would have to say that I've been very fortunate in that regard...

It looks worse than it is. All the damage was done by branches and small limbs; I'm still amazed that the trunk fell right between the house and the shed. It could have been much worse...
