3 episodes in Lost In Space, and I can’t get over the corniness and terrible acting.

I don’t know. It didn’t strike me that bad. Some parts were less than stellar, but overall I liked it.

It strikes me as odd that so many people think it's a let down from what they expected as a remake of the original Lost in Space.

Why?

I recall the original TV series as being exceedingly lame. If anything, I'd say the remake is far superior to the original.

Yeah - the remake is corny....but it's family fare and it's a heck of a lot less corny than the original.

And Dr. Smith is supposed to be someone you can hardly bare to watch.... just like the same character was on the original series. Except, in the remake, they don't make the villain into a buffoon as they did in the original.

How does "The Expanse" rate on the gratuitous sex and violence scale? Not into much of either.

We just finished the first set of Lost in Space and HATED....Dr Smith! We liked the Show pretty well.

Me neither. As I recall, it's pretty tame. Here's the IMDB guide.

One sex scene in the first episode -- nothing after that.

This thread has me thinking about Justified. A friend told me it was good but I gave up after a 3-4 episodes. I’ll have to check it out again along with Expanse.

Justified was absolutely fantastic. The character storylines are excellent and leave you satisfied at the series conclusion. So many shows just veer off in terms of quality. Dexter was a great show for the first couple seasons but became ridiculous and unwatchable. As mentioned in this thread, Bosch is another one.

Please post if you have other shows that are truly excellent. I'm always on the hunt for another series to binge watch

For those of you on the fence, please give it a chance. If you don't get hooked by the end of Season 1, then I'll build you a guitar for free.

OK I just watched season 1 in a day and hated it, I would like a BRW/SInker Redwood OM please, fan fret, sound port, and arm and rib bevels. PM me and I will send you my address!!!!

Yeah.. Bosch seemed pretty cliche to me. We watched the first season but I doubt we'll watch the second.

I completely agree. It may very well be one of the best shows of all time. As for suggestions, The Wire is excellent as well. Staying on HBO, Band Of Brothers and it’s counterpart The Pacific were both great, though I thought Band Of Brothers was the better of the two.

Started watching the first episode. Pretty cheesy "future" costumes and so far not much to garner my interest. Will give it another shot.

The Expanse books are much better than the show.
