Default Gordon Lightfoot documentary

There are some recent reviews online but I can't figure out where to see it. Anyone know?

I'm not quite sure what a "virtual cinema" is, but I would love to see this film too. So I will watch this thread.

Growing up in rural Michigan, we got reception from Canadian radio and TV stations from across Lake Huron better than many US stations, so I became very familiar with his music early on. GL was a big inspiration for me learning acoustic guitar later on, and there was a time that I could perform most of his catalog. I even have an LP copy of "Sit Down Young Stranger" in my storage area (but no functional turntable to play it on).

One of our Canadian legends, I've got a bunch of his records as does my old man. I'll have to watch this.

I've spent a bunch of money attending GL concerts and purchasing CDs/records over the years going back to the 70s so I'll definitely be on the list to purchase this DVD....

It is in some theaters in the US: Aug. 7 at the closest to me (40 miles). I can't find a way to see it streaming here. https://www.gordonlightfootmovie.com/

thanks for posting this info, I had not heard about this. I grew up listening to Gordon L.

There's a youtube video I watched this past winter, was doing a John Prine marathon one night, and John is performing in a small venue and Gordon L is sitting against the wall with Johns son(I think, maybe daughter-can't remember). I'll try to find it and post it here.

and yep, I'm ordering the DVD

Thanks, this works well for me! The website can see where I am (I allow that) and found the nearest theater that is streaming it, (one in Durham 20 mi away). But the miles don't matter. It offers a streaming option and so I'll wait and get a laptop hooked up to our large-ish TV this coming weekend and enjoy.........

I still have Gord's Gold, the LP (and a turntable although I have not used that in years). And the GG songbook. Used to play so many of his, esp when I lived in Minnesota LOL.

Hope I can find this documentary. Mr. Lightfoot is one of the reasons I play guitar. I read his bio recently, called "Lightfoot," good book. He's led an interesting life.

I've seen him live two times, 40 years apart. Both shows were outstanding.

If you use a V.P.N. it will mask your location.

Thanks guys for all the posts. I figured out you can either buy the DVD from Amazon, or you can go to that link for the Gordon Lightfoot Movie. I learned that "virtual cinema" means you can buy a ticket through the Laemmle button on the movie website and have instant streaming.

Since I hate watching movies on computer, I'm going to stream it to my tv through the Eventive TV app. (see this link in the "help" section on the website)
