Default Which DI should I use baggs venue VS AER

Hello all,

If we can start gigging again, I want know what’s best:

I use my guitar with M80 pickup into the baggs venue di, into AER compact 60. When going FOH, which di shoud I use? The one from the baggs venue or the one from the AER amp?

Kind regards,
Bart

I think it depends which sound you prefer.

If you go DI out from the Baggs you miss the AER from the signal chain going to the PA.

DI out from the AER and you capture it. Completely whichever you prefer.

Hi Bart
If you are using the same Front of House system all the time, I'd schedule an opportunity to try it out both ways.

I always send Front Of House my preamp XLR output and then send the same signal to my on-stage-amp from the ¼" output.

This allows me to change my on-stage amp sound without affecting the house. And the XLR output signal from my preamp is superior to the XLR coming out of an amp (even an AER).

If you feed your guitar-->preamp-->amp-->house, any adjustment you make will affect the house.

Nothing upsets sound techs like having pulled a sound check, and set up your best sound in the house with their gear only to have me screw it up by changing something in the chain.

Ask yourself who are you going to trust…the person out front hearing your sound directly or your guess at how you sound?

I agree with Larry.
The lrbaggs is a more than adequate
Signal to send to FOH . The aer is now
Your stage monitor. Any sound tech
Worth his or her own salt can give
You a great sound out front.and the
Aer can do it for you on stage.
