Hi Jamie! I've tried them a few times and didn't much care of them. They seem to be much stiffer than other strings of the same gauge and they didn't last very long for me.

Jamie I have used them and the quality is superb. I normally use Martin M540 plain ol' 12-54 PB's as they are cheap, warm sounding and I change 'em every 3 to 4 shows. But I had some "throw in with my order" strings from Sweetwater that were a 3-pk of the Dunlop 12-54 PB's after I researched how they make their own strings, machines and new facility...well I was very impressed at how smooth and warm they felt and sounded. Nothing out of this world, but the quality of the ball end, wrap and all looks of excellent quality.
I think they are worth a try if you like strings that are on the warm side of the spectrum; they are comparable tonally to John Pearse 600L but a little smoother and they are not zingy when first put on. Kinda like the original DR Rares used to be but better. Free shipping at Strings and Beyond right now, I just ordered 3 sets this morning at $5.49 a pack vs my usual Martin M540 which are $4.29 (but I order 20 and they give me 15% off, so I get 'em for 3.65).... eric

Thanks for the responses Mick and Eric and the tip on Strings and Beyond Eric.
I may give those 540's a try as well. I figure the Dunlops are worth trying and I have heard a few comments about their warmth. I'm always interested in testing any strings. It's fun and sometimes a person can find "the ones" for a certain guitar.

I always try to let everybody know at least what I thought whether it has any value or it doesn't. I'm going to try some Curt Mangan's for the first time as well.

I didn’t know Dunlop made strings. I’m a big fan of their other products so I may give these a shot in my experimentations.

When I can get them., I buy Jim Dunlop pb strings for mt Dobro (square neck) and mandolin - they are bright, long lasting and I "feel" that they are slightly higher tension than equivalent D'addarios (I like high tension!)

Hi Silly! The high tension thing may be the feeling I was getting that felt like stiffness to me. Of course when it comes to guitars EVERYTHING is subjective.

The only time I ever bought a multi pack of untried strings online I bought a 10? Pack box of Dunlops. They felt nice, and sounded great with one exception: the G-string of every single set, for whatever reason, sounded like a sitar. I went to my local music store and bought heavier G-string singles and everything was fine. It wasn't cool that to "save" money, I had to spend an extra dollar for a single string for EACH pack I used.
