Default Do You Think Sweetwater Knows??

This is a silly post, but, I recently received an order from Sweetwater. The first thing that goes into the trash is the little bag of horrible candy. Does anyone really eat that candy?
I spend $2500 on a guitar and you thank me with a bag of awful candy? There may be a better way. How about a gift certificate for a pound of See's candy? Or, a discount on my next purchase. Over the last ten years I've spent close to 25k at Sweetwater. Loyalty should have its reward.

Ok, my rants over and you can return to the AGF forum.

Ha, I don’t get as riled up about it as you do, but I also hate the candy. If I buy anything from them again I will request they leave it out of my order.

Has anyone ever been able to get the wrapper off of the taffy?

The very definition of a first world problem.

I don’t mind the stupid candy, since I’ve only ever bought small things from them. Strings, picks, tuners, etc. If I spent thousands on a guitar, yeah, the terrible candy would be out of place. What IS out of place after spending $20 is the follow up calls you get from your sales engineer to “make sure you’re happy.” I appreciate the thought and all, but I’d really rather not be bothered.

I’d rather they send a bag of jerky.

Let's all try real hard and I'll bet we AGF'ers can also turn Sweetwater into a Guitar Center-type ongoing rant ...

My wife likes the Tootsie Rolls. Once I got an order and the candy package contained no Tootsie Rolls. Kiddingly, I sent an email to my Sweetwater sales guy complaining about this. He sent her a large jar of Tootsie Rolls.

They do have bonus bucks. You need to talk to your sales rep. Mine has always taken care of my issues.

Lillis- you have to unwrap the taffy while its cold.

I once got a call from my rep to make sure my new Martin arrived safely and set up as preferred. (Yes, SW has always offered a basic set up in regards to string height with my guitar purchases). I jokingly mentioned there was no candy, and he asked what was my favorite. Next day (FedEx overnite!) a very nice old-fashioned candy jar full of tootsie rolls showed up with a note.

Silly, I know, but I havent forgotten the gesture, or the name Michael Grebe.

And Den, did you ever think that if the wife or kids get a little lagniappe, it lessens the NGD angst? And every little bit helps!

I didn't care about the candy. In fact, I don't even remember it. But I only made a small order from them once. Then they kept calling me. It was like they thought I was their best friend. It felt like it was every day, but it was at least once a week. I had to tell them to stop.

And I've never ordered anything from them agan.

My wife loves Bit-O-Honey. It's difficult to find fresh (soft) ones that aren't rock-hard. Sweetwater sends nice fresh ones. My wife gets the bag of candy every time

My wife loves the candy as well. It helps take the sting out of me spending too much for stuff I could do without. Thank you, Sweetwater!
