And I love 'em all!
That's a sweet collection of 12-strings, Pete.

Could you comment on the string spacing at nut and bridge?

I had a LKSM several years ago and couldn't get along with the right hand spacing (too narrow). I owned Paul Geremia's Froggy/Stella many years earlier but failed to appreciate the spacing on it. It needed work and I sold it rather than fix it - been kicking myself over that ever since.

Thanks.

I had 9 at one time and have since sold most of them preferring 00 size Guitars.

Here's a picture that summed up my passion with 12 strings
The 2 I kept are the MJ Northwood (For Sale) and the Grand Concert
Lakewood

Nothing like a 12 String.

Hi Toby,

That Kinnaird 12-string sounds like a killer guitar! I have an older 1972 Guild F212 12-string, sitka/mahogany. I have been using light strings and keeping it tuned to concert pitch, because I like the sparkling sound. But I also like the sound of medium strings on a tuned-down 12-string -- definitely that Leadbelly sound. I have played around with the idea of getting a Taylor LKSM and using it that way, but I have not been able to make myself spend the money...

It sure is Glenn. I use that tuning for that McTell stuff as well.

I currently play a 1987 Taylor 855, a 2003 Seagull S12+ (foul camping and travelling guitar) and a 2007 Taylor T5-C2 (for the plugged-in sound).

My first acoustic guitar was a brand new Giannini Craviola 12 string that I bought new in 1969. It was a little tough to play, especially beyond the 5th fret, but sounded pretty darn good. One of my favorites was an old Martin D35-12 (sloped shoulder, 12 fret, brazilian rw) that sounded as smooth as butter.

I love the 12's.

Here's one taken a couple of years ago.

I'll try and get a picture of my 1968 Martin 12-20 up tomorrow.

Guild D-4-12.

I also have a Larrivee 12 but the Guild gets most of the action.

I'll have to get out the ruler, but they all have nice wide necks at the nut...
What's the correct way to measure the string spacing at the nut and bridge? Is that the space (measurement) in between the courses of strings?
