Default Songs about guitars

Not surprisingly, the first title I thought of came up in the first 5 responses. Carry on. [emoji4]

Has this been posted? Not specifically about guitars, although Martin gets an honourable mention in Bill Cox's 1936 tune about FDR...

I scanned these and didn’t see this one listed by Mary Chapin Carpenter - Old D-35
She wrote it in memory and honor of her longtime guitarist and collaborator, John Jennings.
Best,
Jayne

While my Guitar Gently Weeps. And now you can hear an acoustic version played by George Harrison.

[QUOTE=Silly Moustache;6652482]Hi Bill, I'm delighted to se so many votes for the Guy and Verlon song, the Guitar.

Apparntly it was made up one night . or a coulle when they were "teaching" songwriting, and the lyrics were put together with the class attendees.

I think that this is the "tale"

https://youtu.be/PW4W3LbJUk0

And this is Verlon's wondrous solo version :

I saw a video where Verlon tells this story.
He commented that they wondered how to give the proper credit to the song and the attendees all agreed that the credit should go to Guy and Verlon.
