In light of the most recent turn of events, politically speaking, Should not some of those with many McIlroys help those of us with only one McIlroy by giving some of their McIlroys to me(us)? you know, "spread the wealth"

I think that those with NO McIlroy's would be far better candidates. Especially if they wanted to "deprogram" a Lowden owner.

well... if someone wants to donate a McIlroy in an attempt to deprogram me, I'd be a willing subject for the experiment

Default A36 heaven

Haha Well, kinda. I'd just got back from a 300 mile round-trip by train and bus ( a long way in England) and it was dark so good light was hard to find but i just had to take a few quick pics and post them. The joy of sharing! I was knocked out by how awesome this guitar is; I have a Martin HD28, a Collings OM3C, a Collings D2h and a Lowden O32 and have played others and owned a couple of Martins but nothing compares to this. It's too good to be true. I am NEVER, NEVER parting with it. I do have a new problem though....MAS!

How does it compare to the O32? What's better/different?

I've had my McIlroy A25 for almost a year now and it's still one of the two best guitars I've played in my humble opinion. The other one cost 5 times as much as the McIlroy.

I've got a serious musician friend that was visiting last fall and got a chance to play mine for a couple of days. He owns an HD28V, L3 and L9 Larivees, a Gibson J200, Gibson Hummingbird, and a couple of odds and ends. He immediately went home and bought the first and only McIlroy he could find from Paramount Guitars.

I called him a few weeks ago and asked how he and the McIlroy were getting along, and he replied that he couldn't put it down.

There are not enough out there or being built to have the name recognition of the big boys YET, but they truly are exceptional guitars.

Absolutely agree with tamiller1952. I've only just put the guitar down to quickly write this. The note separation is wonderful; the neck is perfect (for me); the build is flawless;the projection is amazing. I'm no luthier or even au fait with the intricacies of harmonics, acoustics, bracing patterns, hide glue, species of trees, blah blah. I just know that this is one magnificent guitar (as are all the others that Dermot makes,I dare say). Finally one that 'speaks' to me. As for comparisons with the Lowden (which I still love), it just seems on a higher level; an 'upgraded' version if you like. You have to try one and then you'll know, and be hooked! (or perhaps not?). After all, we're all individuals! ("I'm not").
Enough of this; back to the McIlroy!

Default Membership of COM?

Hi all, Am I now a full member of this elite club? I hope so 'cos I am the proud owner of an A36 and on the lookout for an AS25 ( they're a drug, I'm hooked).
