Thanks very much. It is designed as a matching guitar to my other Olson #1301 which is a cedar/Brazilian SJ Cutaway and the only difference is the pickup in this dread and the fact it has an Adirondack top. The original design was worked out between Jim Olson and I when we did the first one, literally the only one ever like that. They both have Brazilian rosewood necks which I think make them each one of the five Jim has built Brazilian rosewood necks. I think the other three were special edition guitars.

What Jim said about this dread is:
"The guitar is fabulous!" and

"It is not a Martin sound. It is very much my signature sound. It needs to be played right now but out of the gate I love the complexity of it"

The other dread I have which will be my band mates when this one arrives, is hands down my very favorite guitar. It is sitka top and Indian rosewood. I have no doubt this Brazilian guitar will be spectacular out of the gate and once the Adirondack really opens up after I play it a while, I have no doubt it will really be beyond words.

Jim Olson is just fantastic to work with on every level.

What an amazing piece of functional art. That guitar is an absolute beauty. Congratulations, Keith. Can't wait for you to receive it. You don't mind if I live vicariously through you for a while, do you?

Sure. It will be in my hands in a day or two and I will be getting very familiar with that bad boy. We have a big event in 9 days and I am looking forward to debuting it in public at the event.

Great guitar, Keith, and a fun process to watch, too. Sad that the thread is almost over, but as we've seen with 1301, these threads sometimes get resurrected

Happy shipping

1301 just got killed. It is nice this one is wrapping up because that means my guitar is about to be in my hands!

You would have been required to start part 2 on the 1301 for exceeding 300 posts hadn't some of your earlier posts been removed for inappropriateness

That happens fairly regularly for me, including the occasional "no soup for you" for a week when I am noticeably quiet. I am turning over a new leaf starting right about.....NOW.

I don't know how many different ways there are to reiterate the theme of "Wow". Hopefully one day my playing skills will be worthy of such a work of art. Not expecting my finances to be, though!

Getting the guitar of your dreams is not based on whether your playing skills are worthy. Otherwise, I should not have a better guitar than say Keith Urban right? LOL

It sounds just like an Olson. Full bodied, with exceptional resonance, and is just a work of art to look at. Olsons are just amazing from every aspect.

I am at work so only could play it a little but look forward to taking it out for a ride tonight.

Well the first practice with the Olson is in the books. Sounds alot like my old 1995 Olson dread #547... excepot bigger and warmer/more mellow sounding. You can tell one I break this top it is is really gonna be something.

I am very appreciative that Jim is such a perfectionist....and man can he build a dread!
