Talking I Did It! New Breedlove!

Breedlove Pursuit Exotic Concerto in Myrtlewood.

It needs a little setting up, but it has a beautiful tone...and it's pretty easy on the eyes!

Congratulations! I have heard great things about these models and heard one at an open mic recently. Enjoy and I hope that you can get it set up to your satisfaction.

Best,
Jayne

Very nice. You can't go wrong with a Breedlove.

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really prefer this headstock

Now give time to adjust to your home Climate

And remember the harder you strum the Concerto the louder it gets...

Thanks All!

The flunkies at GC never even offered to set it up for me (which is fine because I really didn't want them to touch it!)

One guy pretended to tune it real quick with an electric tuner, but it wasn't even CLOSE to correct.
I'm taking it to a real guitar technician next week

Is there any benefit to putting a bone bridge on it? I ask because several years ago, a guitarist told me it was "the only way to go".

The saddle change would be up to you to decide if you can really hear a difference. I'm sure you could get a thousand different opinions on that here. If you are going to get a set up on it anyway I would just go ahead and get the Bone saddle. It shouldn't add a lot to the cost of the set up. That way you can decide for yourself if you can really tell a difference. Nice Breedlove by the way.

Really nice guitar and really smart move.

A good tech should also be able to tell you if a bone saddle will be an upgrade to consider - I see you have a pinless bridge so that rules out bone bridge pins!

Keep us posted on how it turns out.

Oh man, that's good! I was a little worried tonight after playing it for about 30 minutes. The new strings are really stiff and it hasn't been properly set up. The E string is buzzing like crazy (possibly my technique after playing a Taylor Travel for a while!).

It has such a completely different sound from the Taylor and is going to take some getting used to.

To end my practice session, I went back to the Taylor for a few songs just to get my confidence back before calling it a night!

I should probably wait to play it until it's set up, but it's so hard to sit here and look at it and not pick it up.

If you're super comfortable with how your Taylor plays it might be a good idea to take it along with you when you see the guitar tech who will be working on the new Breedlove - it gives them an idea what's already working for you.

I did it myself with a new guitar a few years back and it worked out really well.

That is a good looking guitar! Congratulations!!

The pin-less bridge design is intriguing. It’s a clean look too. I like it.
