Default Want to show us something you've recorded?

I'm not sure how many of you have heard of YouSendIt.com , but it's a great site for sending large files (up to 1 GB) to people who don't have a lot of storage space in their inbox. Basically, it sends them a link to a DL.

The nice thing for this is, you can use it to post clips of yourself into forums and up to 25 people can use the link before YouSendIt.com closes the link. Just send it to either yourself or a friend, then copy the reference link it gives you and paste it into a message here.

On that note....I'm going to be the first one that I'm aware of to post a yousendit.com link in this forum. This is a link to a song from a performance I did a while back. This is really bare-bones recording of me playing "Jolene" (a song from Ray LaMontagne) direct from the mixer's tape out, so I've done no editing or filtering. Please forgive the somewhat poor production value...

Jolene - mp3 format, not streamed. Approximately 9MB http download.

I'd sure like to know what people think

guyute, came through on my computer pretty nice. what guitar were you playing. you sing good too. i prefer the raw stripped down recording personally. everything is so slicked up today i'm more from the old school. it is great that individuals have access to technology they can record with at home for a reasonable price.

nice work!

Cool . I'm playing my 2003 Taylor 410ce plugged direct into the Mackie 808M and vocals are a Shure Beta58. Only effects used would be a touch of reverb on both guitar and vocal.

It's interesting...I've got a home recording setup, but I'm pretty sure my condenser mic is defective. So I've pretty much had to resort to recording my live shows instead. Someday I'll end up either fixing the mic or getting a new one.

This is a song from a tough time... both parents had just passed on, and had marital trouble to boot. (Sad story from awhile back). But it was a fun recording, because I got to play trumpet for the first time since I dropped it as a major in college. The guitars are both my old Martin D-41. The big boom is a Rubbermaid trash can, btw...

The Other Side

MP3, non-streaming.

Chad, very nice! I enjoyed that one a lot, even if you and Wade aren't sticking to the original intent of the thread

Seriously, I was hoping to get a thread like this going where even some people who haven't figured out about hosting could post links to their recordings

Actually, it's good to know about - I'll probably use it in the future, simply because I don't want to use up the space on my own webhost. Sorry about missing the intent...
