Default Godin Multiac Grand Concert . S.A. model or non S.A. model

Looking at buying a Godin Multiac Grand Concert. I don't know weather to get the synth access with the rmc pick ups or the fishman system. The synth. Sounds fun. But what I want most is a good nylon sound. What say you all?

Default Godin Nylon

I vote for the Godin ACS-SA USB. I've had the Mulitac GC model and now have this ACS-SA and personally like the SA better. I usually like a 2" nut on nylons, but on the Godins I prefer the 1-7/8". Great feel and I like the versatility of the instrument. I rarely play it with the synthesizer (Roland GR-55), but it is nice to have the option. Both instruments are quite nice especially for the price. Here's a couple of demo videos.

They used to build a wide fingerboard, ebony, non synth.. that would be my preference.
I don't believe they make it in that configuration now.

I just purchased a Grand Concert Duet Ambiance...I'm generally not interested in synth stuff, and this had the best acoustic tone of what Godin offers, so it was the right choice for me. Bohemian, this guitar is a 2" nut width with an ebony fingerboard.

it's a wonderful guitar...can't say enough about it, a joy to play and it sounds great plugged in (and not half bad unplugged, very surprising)

That's great to hear. We do have a local Godin shop, but they insisted there was no such thing. Thanks for the heads up.

You can have the best of both worlds:

you can buy a multiac nylon SA and have the synth and 1 7/8" nut, and buy an external fishman aura nylon pedal - the same technology used in the godin ambiance.

I have a Godin ACS SA Slim Black Pearl for sale now in the 'For Sale' section. Check it out if you did not buy anything yet. Its a awesome guitar but just too many toys.

I agree with the above statement,, unless a Roland synth is important to you,
you get more true and natural tone from the ambiance,,

My dear departed friend, Brad (Buster B.) Jones liked the Multiac with the
synth pickup,, not so much for the synth,, he actually liked the more brittle ,
more crunch tone of that pickup,, i told him the Duet sounded more natural to me but he thought i was nuts,, go figure,,

Is that pedal still on the market? I thought it was discontinued.

The individual pedals have been discontinued and replaced with an all-in-one (Aura DI) that combines a variety of sounds on the previously available single pedals. I haven't tried it, but I did try the nylon aura when it was out and wasn't impressed. It did offer some tonal variation, but I thought it was over-hyped. I sold it a while back as I never actually used it.
