Default Tonedexter case

Has anyone come up with a good case to carry around the TD and power cord? I tried to make one out of an old plastic Shure mic case but that’s not really thick enough to add foam and it’s too long. Please share any solutions.

This, using the always available online 20% off coupon:

The interior foam doesn't hold up, so I used several layers of this, which you can easily cut with a knife:

I got a hermit shell zipped case similar to this one but appropriate size. It has one deep side which I use for the top and flips open during gigs [iirc ] and one shallow side into which the TD sits in it's own little foam cradle.

The PSU fits into another block of foam by it's prongs (UK design) and the PSU cable tucks behind the TD.

The whole thing goes into a hard case for travel or a backpack for local work.

Hermit Shell semi rigid case.

Very similar to what I was suggesting, good spot. Is there room for the PSU or battery?

I was pointed towards searching for "mobile printer cases" on Amazon which led me to my solution.

I went ahead and got the Apache from Harbor Freight. It def holds and protects it and the cable with left over room. The only negative..it’s rather large. I am used to carrying my venue in its case in a leather bag, but this will not fit

If you take a close look at ToneDexter, all the POTs are nutted down to the metal chassis. Other than preventing cosmetic deterioration, it should take abuse just like a Boss stompbox and there is no need to baby it.

It is exceptionally well made from a physical standpoint (and not bad no matter how you look at it :~).

Agreed, but I'm planning to hold onto mine for some time and those little nicks and bumps do accumulate. I have had Boss boxes over the years and they are certainly the standard for "designed to be used" but even my Boss GE7 travels in a clip-top sandwich box these days, and is a perfect fit, by the way.

Who knows what global warming will bring
