Smile TC Helicon Play Acoustic and Taylor ES2

Hey everyone, I am a newbie to AGF. I’ve searched through past threads and not found what I am looking for.
I have a TC Helicon Play Acoustic, and a Taylor acoustic with ES2 pickup. Trying to set the input gain, and even with the guitar volume setting at max, I still need about 18dB of input gain on the Play Acoustic to get the level indicator in the Green. This seems unusual - doesn’t leave much headroom. Is this normal? Also, I am a reasonably loud singer and I need the vocal input gain almost at max to get the level indicator into the Green.
Any and all experiences of using this combo much appreciated!
