Nice to have F1 back again. Some things have changed, some haven't. Looks like Fernando Alonzo has a good car this year. That man can really drive.

Fernando having a decent car is the best thing that could ever happen to F1 this year. He's a monster.

Would be interesting to see how Verstappen raced against Alonso if they were fighting for the championship one day.

Good to see Aston Martin near the front - Go green.

The F1 Stewards have too much control over the outcome of the races and championships. They ruined F1 for me. I used to be an avid fan, now it's just a boring spectacle.

Agree that having Alonso in the mix again is good for F1. If Lewis and Mercedes can't rebound this year (or even if they do), I'd love to see Fernando go head to head to Max. I'm not a huge Verstappen fan, but he's a heckuva driver.

It was an exciting race! Very happy to see Aston Martin featuring, Ferrari have reliability issues and even Toto has said that they haven't got it right .... yet.

Saudi race on the 19th!!

Agreed, Andy. Really happy to see Alonso and Aston Martin in the mix (you gotta love that as a Brit).

I'd love to see the top teams and drivers get a bit miffed and thrown off-kilter this season.

Hi Scott, yes, I was cheering for Alonso on Sunday, although Aston Martin are using a Mercedes power-plant (the new term for "engine" apparently).

Further - Aston Martin this and last season have by far the prettiest colour strip.

I think that the term "power plant" includes both the engine and the electrical system. From what I've been reading at watching, it seams that Mercedes is admitting that the chassis and aerodynamics just do not make the grade. It will be interesting to see what their car looks like in a few months.

The Aston is lovely. I must admit that I do like the all black Merc.

Jeddah up next...

I was really happy to see Checo win the Saudi Grand Prix. He seems to be a very popular guy in the paddock with all the other teams. I believe he ran wire-to-wire, didn't he?x oulsd

It looks like Max would have caught and passed him but for some late mechanical problems.

Interesting comments from Hamilton about the dominance of the Red Bull cars at the moment: https://wtf1.com/post/hamilton-says-...this-red-bull/

It's too early to tell, but clearly the Aston Martin car is really dialed in. After two races, AM appear to have leap-frogged both Mercedes and Ferrari. Really cool, and great to shake up the top teams.

Ferrari is lagging. Russell and Hamilton beat both LeClerc and Sainz.

I like the variety of the season so far. It's really enjoyable to see new teams and drivers compete at the highest level.

Your thoughts?

It was a good race, excellent track, (I wish our road surfaces were half as good!) good clean start, only one yellow flag, no nasty crashes, and whilst Red Bull is obviously dominant there will be changes through the season. Toto (Mercedes) said at the first race at Bahrain that they haven't got it right yet.

The more colours on the podium and the first six means healthy racing.

One problem the new Sky reporter the young scots lady Bernie Collins ex Aston Martin, ... I just can't understand what she's saying .... is it just me?

Bring back Naomi Schiff !

Bernie talks in a very technical way that a lot of us have probably not heard from any of the other commentators. We'll get used to it, eventually. I really like that we have a strategist in the commentator pool, something new for us and she really knows her stuff - no BS, or guessing like the other commentators would possibly spew.

Good comments, Andy. It looks like the Red Bull car is blazing hot this year, with two very hot drivers. Gonna be hard for anyone to beat them.

Very messy finish to the Australian GP in Melbourne!

Pretty sure this was exactly the type of finish that Michael Masi tried to avoid at Abu Dhabi in 2021 ... and look how that ended for him!
