Hey John,

As I have been lurking around, I have checked in on this build. Awesome details and it is looking great. One comment on process, boy do I hate the part of clearing the finish for the bridge. For me, I always seem to have a little slip and it is back to finish. So close then yet so far. Thanks for showing that part.

Great job my friend.

Thanks John. And yes indeed, we feel each other's pain there. That bridge patch finish removal process is one of those jobs that I wish I could farm out. I have on occasion been able to wick a little superglue under the edge of delaminated finish blems but really hate doing that.

Here is the maple neck joined to the body. There was some skepticism from some quarters that these woods would work together but I think they harmonize nicely

Absolutely beautiful John! I think the maple neck marries up nicely, and the blue accents are perfect! Well done!

I read and re-read this thread and offer observations:
The final product is beautiful, stunning!
The process is fascinating, with a plan, a few curves, and perseverance winning the day.
JK, I very much admire your luthiers skill and willingness to post here throughout the process.

What a dream guitar!

Thank you sir. There were a few curves in this project. I’m not above redoing anything that does not turn out right and Woodie will certainly verify that. So the process is probably not as smooth as it might seem just looking at my posts. But I do appreciate your kind remarks.

Thanks for the plug John. Glad it’s working well for you. Very very pretty guitar. What tuners are you using? I don’t recognize those tapered shafts?

Thank you Tim
Those are Scheller tuners. They are very well made. That shaft actually rides on two ball bearings one on each end of the shaft that are a press fit into the openings.

Love seeing this one all put together. Not to be redundant, but I think you guys did a super job of blending traditional elements with some not so traditional appointments. Net result….masterpiece!!
