Northwoods Seminar 2015
.
What an incredible honour it was to be asked to teach at this year's Northwoods Seminar in Big Rapids Michigan! To be included with all of these other seminal figures in my field was truly gratifying. Thanks so much to Bryan Galloup and all of his luthiers (special thanks to the amazing Sam Guidry)!!! I thought I'd post some photos of the event over the next few days so that folks could get a bit of an idea of the scope of this event. I have to say it was the best event like this I've ever attended or participated in ... absolutely EVERYTHING was taken care of for you ... from the meals to the entertainment to, well, everything! And what a welcoming atmosphere. It was four days that I'll never forget! Here's their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/NorthwoodsSeminar?fref=ts Here's the maestro himself ... Bryan Galloup!!! .

Think there's nothing left to learn about fretting, dressing and recrowning frets ... David Collins has some tricks up his sleeve to show you. He introduced me to some very cool fret buffing wheels that ScotchBrite makes ... very cool! .

What a nice group!
Great to see David Collins sharing his knowledge. He does all of my work and he's a phenomenal repair guy. Even more so, he's a first class guitar geek - he has a bench in his shop dedicated to his experiments. It's fun to bring him challenging projects because he relishes the opportunity to come up with a solution. Just a great guy and a great repairman. |

I've got to say ... it was pretty intimidating when I looked up part way through my presentation on French Polishing, and saw Dan Erlewine in the audience! .

Thank you for sharing these, David. It looks like it would have been fascinating even for us guitar geeks that aren't builders.
