Thanks D'Addario. I received my set.
I'll put them on once my current strings wear out. The D'Addario titanium EJ45TT's are currently my favourite set, so I'm curious to see how the EJ45FF's compare! |

Thanks for the strings, they made it down to the bottom of the world yesterday. Hope to get them strung up over the weekend and see how they settle in!

I finally put my set (EJ45FF) on my Cordoba GK Studio negra today. First impressions:
1) The trebles are thin! More so than the EJ43s that I had on and those were light tension. I don't think that's a problem for me, however it may suprise someone used to thicker trebles. I had no slippage problems when installing. 2) The trebles are powerful, clear, good intonation. The G string sounds great and I can see why some people have used carbon for the 3rd string. 3) Basses feel/sound good and strong, like new basses usually do. I've always liked D'Addario bass strings. One reason is their longevity and time will tell how these dynacores hold up and sound after they're broken in. For this guitar and what I use it for, these strings seem like a good match. I'll probably buy a back up set (I like to keep matching spares in the case). So right off the bat I like them a lot! I'll have to report back in a few weeks after they get used on a few gigs... |

I just put these new carbons on my New World Player. Theysettled in fairly quickly but I'm sure have a few more days 'til fully stabilized. My initial reaction is positive in that the balance between the G and D is very good, much better even than the alternate composite string provided in the EJ45-C set.
I've been using high tension Oasis strings and have come to like the increased volume and note separation they provide, especially when amplified (Baggs Anthem Classical > SA220), and to make a better comparison I'll have to try a high tension set of these D'Addario carbons. Thanks again to D'Addario for giving us the chance to try these new strings. I definitely think they're a welcome addition and improvement to their line.

Loving the Hard Tension Carbons!
As a follow up, I wanted to say that I decided to look up the specs and was surprised to see that these strings are exactly what I was looking for! I was looking for treble strings with a higher tension than anything that was available, but at the same time not too ridiculously thick. The Hard Tensions fit the bill.
Also, these Carbon trebles have among the most flexible and expressive tonal ranges I've ever heard. At first, they reminded me of the La Bella Rectified Nylon due to the very slightly "buffed" texture. However, they are much less prone to string noise and truly capable of singing tones when using the Carlevaro technique. The DynaCore basses are good, but I just prefer LaBella Argento Pure Silver Hard Tensions. I don't think any manufacturer has yet to equal them, especially since LB improved quality control on the "D" strings which used to break every two weeks or so. For this reason, I think D'Addario shouldn't force its customers to pay for the Dynacore basses if they don't want them anymore. These strings have been out long enough, break off the treble sets on their own. I've gotten nothing but complements since using this combination of strings. No worries about missing the giveaway as the "Normal" Tension woulda done nothing for me at all. |

Update on my set: Ok, I've now played three gigs with the new strings. I use a Carvin AG100D for amplification. The guitar sounded a bit trebly at first, but with some eq adjustments and the strings breaking in I think the guitar sounds good. The last job I played sounded the best for sure. The basses haven't gone dull yet, intonation is still on. That's about three weeks of use, though I don't play that guitar exclusively. I'm thinking this set will last me another month. I'll post again when I need to change them... |

What is the combination you're referring to? Are you combining the D'Addario carbon trebles with the La Bella basses?

That was a nice review, I think D'Addario should send Uros a free set.

Strings 6-4 (E,A &D) are La Bella Pure Silver Argento Hard Tension String 3 (G) is the D'Addario Extra-Hard Tension coffee-colored Composite string Strings 1&2 (E &B) are D'Addario Hard Tension Carbon Trebles. The jury is out as to whether the composite G is better than the Carbon G. I've gotten used to the string and the sounds I can get from it, so I like it . . . but the Carbon did sound nice as well. Good job, D'Addario! |

Same case here. They broke while tuning. I had to swap out the remaining G string for a different type, keeping the Dynacore basses on.
Since I didn't have a chance to test out the carbon strings, I can't say much about it. But the Dynacore basses lose their brightness after around 8 hours of playing |
