Jayne, as someone who has very arthritic thumbs, I feel your pain. If you’d like to loosen the fit of your boxes just take the top off and give one of the sides a few swipes with an Emory board. Try to maintain the angle and go slow, it doesn’t take much to loosen them.

I use a cool tin that my cat's catnip toy came in. It's big enough for my favorite picks. The other tin I use is the Altoids and they are actually my favorite because they are big enough for picks and a Shubb capo.

35mm film canisters some are the older screw top metal ones, but most are the plastic ones.

Thats beautiful and clever! After each build, I have scraps and remnants that I just cant discard. Now I know what my next project will be. And great practice on finishing techniques. And binding. And inlay….
