Default 'Forget Me Not' - new original.

This wistful little piece appeared the other day whilst playing around in open G tuning (DGDGBD). It was recorded soon after so it may have benefited from more practice to get the changes smoother. Anyway here it is.

Hope you like it.

Very pretty, Phil! Could you remind me again about your recording/video setup? I seem to recall you using a laptop and Movie Maker? Thanks!

Lovely phrasing in this, Phil. I really enjoy your finger style pieces and this is no exception.

Very glad you shared!

Thanks Skip. Yes you are correct. I use my laptop and a piece of free software to actually record the video via the integral web cam. At the same time I record in Reaper also on the laptop. Sometimes I EQ (but not always required) then put it together with the video in Windows Movie Maker. I keep Reaper running all the time I am doing the takes but stop and start the video recording after each take.

My mics are Oktava and interface is an Audient iD14. All very 'affordable'.

To be honest I'm not bothered about using a fancy cameras with super high resolution and different angles etc. so this suits me fine.

Just beautiful, Phil! Love the way you built those lovely little minor notes in there which really brings interest and complexity to the overall piece. You certainly are a master at this!
Congrats on bringing this one to life. I can relate to how sometimes these "appear" and glad you could capture it before it got away!
Best,
Fred

Lovely piece and playing Phil. Soothing but by no means soporific. Plenty there to hold the ears.

Thanks Fred. Yes, the minor notes definitely add a little interest in there.

Very sweet. I agree, lay the track down, ework out your final cuts later. Some things are just better with time, others are better off of the cuff. Anyway, nicely done.
