Default Amesqua Mandolin

Anyone ever played an Amesqua F mandolin and have an opinion or any thoughts about the instrument?
Thanks!

I can imagine that scroll design might generate some opposing views. (I'm not a big fan of it, but I'm an old fart.)

Looks like nice work so it would be interesting to hear where it lands on the tone/voicing spectrum.

You will find it hard to find people who have hands on experience with these obscure instruments. There are quite a few people building instruments in retirement. I'm sure some of them are good. Heck, my one and only build sounds pretty darned good. If you like it, the price is bound to be pretty darned good too.

I own a Silverangel A style that is pretty fabulous, and there are probably 500 or so out in the world, yet mine is the only one I've laid eyes on. Undervalued due to obscurity.

I've always preferred the look of the A style myself, or better still the baroque style mandolin.

Yes, I have. I believe Simms from Harmonious Wail plays on one for the last 4-5 years? [might be able to find their recent recordings].

Impressive instrument from my sample of one [that the builder let me play 5+ uears ago].
