Is it definitely the JBL Eon One Pro that’s been marked down? I’m in the UK, and it’s still £900 or more here, but the JBL Eon Pro Compact is half that, and cheaper than theS1Pro. Are people getting mixed up between the One Pro and the Pro Compact?

Wow! Just checked... it’s true. That’s a real bargain. If I saw that offer in the UK I’d be running to the store with my money.

Yes, JBL is blowing the Eon One Pro out due to all the problems & negative reviews and discontinuing it. I actually have 3 sound systems and considered getting one just for ease of setup and breakdown for gigs. Maybe they will get blown out somewhere in the UK eventually for cheap....

I have 2 of them for about 2 years. No problems at all. Used mostly at Farmers' Markets.

I have A Cube EX and love it. I even used it's lil' brother, the Cube Street for a solo PA and it worked well.
A couple of thoughts... If you need phantom power then it would be easy to simply add a small 3 or 4 input mixer that had phantom power built in. That takes care of the need for more inputs and phantom power. A simple phantom power adapter takes care of that requirement, too. The Cube EX amps are designed to daisy-chain together, so that's an option, although more expensive. It does give you the option of using one or two as needed, though. The Cube EX has a nice built in pole mount, so it makes use as a PA pretty easy. Using an inverter can be really dicey for portable electronics. Just be aware that your money might be better spent putting together something that you know will work reliably. The Cube amps work well using the AA battery option. I used my Cube Street a few times when no power was available and it astounded me that it could pump out high volume for an entire gig. |

It cost me less than any low budget battery powered amp or PA. |

As you've noted, lot's of people love the Bose S1 Pro system. And here's another!
If you haven't seen any of my Bose S1 Pro video reviews, check them out by going to the review link down in my sig line and then scrolling down that page about halfway. The S1 system is great but you'll need to add a small mixer like the EAE StompMix X6 which is also battery powered to get the extra inputs you'll need. Or you could just go with one of the EAE amps which is basically that mixer built right into an excellent sounding amp. We have stayed with the Bose S1 and X6 combo because we also have a second S1 which gives us even more power or sound dispersion if we (rarely) need it. Or we can use it as a monitor. Or we just have it as a backup in the trunk in case something goes wrong (which it never has). But if I was going to do it over I might go with the one-and-done EAE D6-8 Pro in the wood case if they ever come out with one with a battery. But truthfully the Bose S1 just works for us. With the X6 battery powered mixer it's great for our full blown shows where we need two mics. But if we're just playing a party or busking, one guitar, one mic and the Bose makes for the simplest, lightest, best sounding little amp you can imagine. Other than the Bose S1 and EAE amps, the only thing I would say to look into is the Fishman Mini Charge. I have no experience with the Charge but I have owned the Mini as well as the Artist and the S200 and I've always had good success with the Fishman line of amps although with the Mini and Artist you run into the limitation of two inputs. |

Overlooked is the Gemini WRX 900togo, which operates off a lithium-ion battery and offers five hours of use. It is a line array, in the style of a Bose L1C, and sometimes shows up for sale at less than $500. Another selling point for those working off grid is that in addition to running on ac And battery, it will take a 12v plug on the back!
No, I’m not endorsing it, but I just bought the ac-only version and find it acceptable. |

I’m still liking the look of the HK Audio Premium PR:O Move 8 Portable Battery-Powered Speaker. Has anyone used one in person?

I found in practice I can get about 7 hours before hitting the inverter's low voltage cutoff of around 11 VDC. Last edited by Mandobart; 02-27-2021 at 07:08 AM. Reason: Corrected a spell check fail |

I think it must be. There’s very little on the internet about it, but their stuff is generally good quality and the specs and price seem pretty good. I’m guessing it’s not really hit the USA yet.
