Usually about 20 oz. mug in the a.m. (Pete's) with a dose of dark chocolate almond milk...killer.
On the weekend a bit more in the a.m. then a cup or so at night. No, it doesn't interfere with my sleeping. scott |

Two shots of espresso first thing in the AM (I bought a Nespresso machine in 2008, and have gradually moved away from brewed coffee).
Consumed more caffeine when I was working. |

Thanks for all the responses guys.
I think my afternoon coffee is over and done with. It's getting me way too riled up in the afternoon and evening. I'll just have to deal with the fatigue in some other way. |

12 to 24 ounces of strong stuff first thing in the morning and that’s it.

A whole pot
I drink a whole pot of filter drip fresh ground coffee when I get up, 3 to 4 cups. Also a cup of tea after my afternoon nap. New study just came out saying that coffee reduced heart attacks, 29 % in those that drank 3 cups or more, they couldn’t find enough 5 cup a day drinkers to study. NYTimes article.

My mom who passed at 89 drank coffee all day and all evening long. Thick stuff too.

I probably have about the equivalent of 2x 8oz cups in the morning, though it's meted out in smaller doses as I like it hot.
Just recently stopped having coffee at lunch and switched to a single cup of black or oolong tea. Sleeping a lot better now. A while back I had realized that the afternoon pick-me-up cuppa joe was not helping sleep habits; now it seems that this septuagenarian's bod has stopped processing the stuff as quickly as it once did. Turns out I like tea, so no complaints about that shift. I can see it working its way into the breakfast routine someday.

I recently heard a nutritionist on the radio that said there's only one drink that is better for you than coffee and tea....yep, water.
I drink both, so I'm good. scott |

Hi Doug. Three mugs of freshly ground Italian roast, black, every morning for me. I'm generally done with coffee by mid morning, but occasionally feel like more in the afternoon and will make another small pot. Not too late, though, if I want a decent sleep that night.

I have about 3 cups of about 80% decaf/20% caf. fresh ground coffee that stretches out across the morning. At about 1 to 2 PM I have a fully caffeinated half latte with my wife. We have a very nice espresso machine.
I cannot take in too much caffeine, but I love coffee (black except for the latte), so I drink mostly decaf. But it's the best decaf we can find. I have given up caffeine many times over the years, but I always have to come back to it because I just fall asleep, especially in the afternoon. I don't take in enough caffeine to ever feel hyped up. People in the Pacific Northwest, especially west of the Cascade Mountains drink a lot of coffee in general. The dark winters, short days, and the almost constant rain require a little extra something to stay motivated. - Glenn

I have a 16oz-or-so mug in the morning, of freshly-ground French Roast, Espresso Roast, or Italian Roast, then another 16oz'er in the afternoon between two and three. Splash of creamer. From a French press.
There are so many good options for coffee; I had to finally get a simple formula and stick with it. Coffee is one of life's great delights! |

8oz @3:00 AM
8oz @6:30 AM Both of my home roasted Sumatra. If I am working on something great guns, then I may have a third early afternoon.
